Bob raised 10 children with Betty Schmarje and also became father to the 5 adult children of Polly. He loved hunting and fishing; Loved it! He bestowed that love among his family and shared blind, field, and boat with many, many admiring friends. A member of “The Greatest Generation”, he understood the value of things, more importantly the value of moments. Understanding both deeply, he could take with him into any moment, the simplest of things available, and turn the moment into so much more.
A man of few words, kind and gentle, he spoke mostly through his actions. And God bless us who ‘listened’, because we learned through him; that living well, is recognizing the whole is always greater than the sum of it’s parts.
Family and Friends of Robert J. Schmarje will meet Saturday, August 30, 2014 for a Visitation from 9:00 A.M. to time of Funeral Service 11:00 A.M. at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 25519 West Illinois Route 134, Ingleside, Illinois, 60041.
