Choosing cremation neither eliminates nor does it require a funeral service. Traditional or contemporary services are often planned before or after the cremation process. A funeral service followed by cremation may be exactly the same as a burial service followed by ground burial. They can be elaborate or simple and traditional or nontraditional. Arrangements and ceremonies tend to be as individual as the persons for whom and by whom they are made. They may be personalized specifically to reflect the life of the deceased, and thus have a special meaning. The Traditional Cremation Package will be just like a Traditional Burial Package except cremation will follow instead of the casketed burial. This can be accommodated by the use of a cremation rental casket; (see below for clarification). Following the viewing, service / or ceremony, and eventual cremation, the cremains can be buried, scattered, or entombed. Cremation urns are used to hold the cremains. Urns can be constructed out of basic materials like plastic, or out of materials like basic and semi-precious metals, ceramics, and woods.
The Harmony Cremation Service Package can be arranged as an immediate disposition of the deceased, but is usually followed by a memorial service at the church, funeral home or other location. A Memorial Service is one where the body is not present. We feel viewing of the deceased is a very important step in acknowledging that the death has occurred. We believe that having some type of service or ceremony is also a key ingredient to a healthy recovery.

Memorialization provides a permanent, secure place for remains to be placed, and for family members to honor the life of the deceased. What’s a Rental Casket?
A rental casket is used primarily for viewing and/or funeral services prior to cremation and consists of two parts. The first part is the outer shell which looks just like a regular wood casket however it has no interior lining (this part is the rental, not being cremated).

The second part is a separate container that fits inside the outer rental casket shell and has an interior lining and pillow. After the viewing and/or services, the inner unit, containing deceased, is removed from the outer shell and is cremated with the deceased. At a fraction of the cost of a solid wood casket, the rental casket is the choice most families.
